One Bad Azz Ford Coupe!!

Honestly when I Think of “Muscle Cars” one car in particular doesn’t really come to mind. Unless you are talking about a Hot-Rods! And when I think of them I instantly think of the old Ford Coupes! I couldn’t just say one particular year is my favorite because really it isn’t I liked the ones from 1933-37. But one Ford Coupe I have always loved since I was kid was the ZZ Top Hot-Rod zztop.jpg. I always thought that was a cool ass ride. Then as I got older I started looking for more Hot Rods and this is what I found:

Muscle Car “67 Ford Mustang Fastback”

blk_eleanor3.jpg    I have alot of favorite muscle cars, but 1 stands out of the pack more than the others. By far it’s the 67 Fastback.

Quick history on the mustang : The first production Mustang rolled off the assembly line in Dearborn, Michigan on March 9, 1964. The 1967 model year would see the first of the Mustang’s many major redesigns with the installation of big-block V8 engines in mind. Exterior trim changes included concave taillights, side scoop (1967) and chrome (1968) side ornamentation, square rear-view mirrors, along with the usual yearly wheel and gas cap changes. The high-performance 289 option now took a supporting role on the option sheet behind a massive 320 hp (239 kW) 390 in³ (6.4 L) engine direct from the Thunderbird, which was equipped with a four-barrel carburetor. Stock 390 with 4-speed manual Mustangs of the day were recording quarter mile times of mid 13-seconds, with trap speeds of over 105 mph.  The term fastback refers to a car body style characterised by a continuous slope from the roof to the base of the decklid.

By now many people know this car to be Eleanor from the movie “Gone in 60 seconds” starring Nicolas Cage & Angelina Jolie. But to others we know it was a true American Icon!
